OUR SIGNATURE PRODUCTION

Our production of The Tempest is a 90-minute, musical adaptation of Shakespeare’s “Bermuda Play” (written in 1611, inspired by the wreck of the Sea Venture in 1609). The show features a dozen musical numbers that heighten the story and make it easy to understand and enjoy for all ages. The play also uses music to craft a revised ending to the play for Caliban and Ariel that challenges the colonial prejudices of the original text. The show performs at schools and outdoor venues across Bermuda—including Fort St. Catherine, which is the closest that The Tempest has ever been performed to the site of the shipwreck—and all performances are free for Bermudians ages 18 & Under.
